On the eve of the 48th Earth Day celebration, the Saint Ignatius Green team will present the environmental film Renewal – a series of 10-15 minute religious environmental stories across faith traditions, stories from America’s religious environmental movement. All religious traditions uphold the Earth as sacred, and Renewal celebrates varied ways people of faith honor and protect the goods of the Earth: A Jewish nature camp for children; Muslim fast at Ramadan and local organic foods; Catholics and evangelicals in alliance to fight mountain top removal, and other great stories.

This is what Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim, Forum on Religion and Ecology, Yale University had to say-

“Renewal is a path breaking film that gives us for the first time stories of the emerging movement of religious environmentalism across the United States. Here we witness the inspiration of religious ideas in practice for the healing of the Earth. Such a film is invaluable for religious leaders and laity alike. Moreover, it will renew those working on behalf of future generations.”

There is no charge for this event. Popcorn, snacks and beverages will be provided.
