It Truly Takes A Village
Allow me to introduce you to Sherri Sharp-Currie. She is the new director of the parish religious education program – PREP. Sherri and her husband, Nick, have been members the parish since 1996.
As a school teacher and tutor of French and math in Baltimore County for 25 years, she brings considerable experience in working with diverse children, families and educational programs that allow children to grow and families to be supported in educating their children.
Having three children of her own who have gone through the St. Ignatius PREP program, Sherri is cognizant of the wonderful opportunities we have as a parish in living the Gospel, as well as the challenges families face in the 21st century.
In the coming weeks, in both the e-zine and the bulletin, you will learn more about the Prep program for the coming year and how families can register their children. [Check out the video above, and register your children online by clicking here).
Our goal is not simply to teach doctrine but to give parents and children a sense of belonging to the Catholic Church and to our parish family-a family that gathers for worship and is sent out to serve the poor, accompany those on the margins, and advocate for those who have no voice.
I am so grateful for the commitment and love of our parents and our talented teachers. We welcome any parishioners who can support our kids for an hour or two a week, to please join our ministry!
It truly takes a village!
